Program almost any Microchip PIC on Mac OSX

Why USB?

Most Macintosh computers nowadays have USB port instead of serial port built in. Also there is no "parallel" like port to use as a "cheap" program interface.

A big advantage is that this USB programmer doesn't need an external power supply. Also two programmable internal power supply circuits make this programmer a "production programmer" as specified by Microchip.

Be up-to-date

Most small programmers are using a OTP (one time programmable) controller which has to be replaced completely when a new firmware for newer device is released.

The Mac USB PIC programmer uses a controller which has a basic USB firmware. When the programming software starts up it downloads the firmware to the programmer. This way it always keeps up to date and you don't end up with a pile of old unusable microcontroller.

Full range

The USB PIC programmer is comparable to the famous PicStart Plus programmer from Microchip. The only difference is that there is no need for an external power supply and that it features programmable voltage for verification after programming.
